$150.00 – $190.00
This traditional-style sleeveless cardigan, by Mairi cKissock, is worked in the round for ease of knitting, with steeks for cut openings at the front and armholes. It features enclosed facings to seure the cut edges and worked with soft, modern, washable fingering weight yarn not usually used in designs with cut edges which results in a fresh, contemporary look to a traditional garment.
It is named for the 19th century Scottish-Canadian folk song “The Scarborough Settler’s Lament”, as it reflects the designer’s Scottish-Canadian heritage, and the colours of the vest are drawn from the colours of the Scottish wildflowers in the song.
