We’re moving!

Yes, Shelridge Yarns is moving to Gravenhurst, Ontario at the end of August. I’ll be looking for new studio space as I can’t take my barn studio with me! Drat 🙁

I’m very excited to be moving to beautiful Muskoka! My friend, designer Gayle Clow has done a lovely blog post about my move. Click here to see it.

During the moving process – it takes quite a bit of time to pack up my inventory – so far we’re at 28 tubs/bins and not even half done … yikes. And that’s only dyed yarn! However, Sarah is here helping me and we’re taking careful inventory so I can fill orders during the transition period. I may be a little bit slower at getting them in the mail but in the mail they will go.

I also have two upcoming shows: the first ever fiber festival in Barrie, Ontario – Fibre Spirit on August 25th at the Barrie Curling Club. I will also be at the Kitchener Knitter’s Fair as always (trying to think how many years I’ve been doing this show … 18?), the first Saturday after the Labour Day weekend at the Kitchener Aud (September 8th this year).

I’ve temporarily put my Etsy shop on vacation. I can always mail out or bring items to shows if there is something in particular you want. Just email me at

The studio/office 800 number has been disconnected but I’m always checking the email and that’s the best way to get me. The office number 705-439-0000 is still in operation.

I’ll keep you updated – right now it’s all about packing!

Crank In fun in Ingersoll

A Gathering of “Crankers”

Last Saturday was a small Crank in in Ingersoll (Ontario). There is a small community of “crankers” who gather a few times a year to help each other learn about their crank sock machines. Many of these machines are antique but Gil (one of the organisers) also sources new machines as well.

Here’s Jane (below right) – who won one of the door prizes, which happened to be a skein of my hand-painted Silk & Silver sock yarn.
